Art: The Abbey in the Oakwood by Caspar David Friedrich : 1810Death is indeed one of the mysteries on earth. Does anyone know what happens after this occurrence? Well, that was actually a rhetorical question because I doubt anyone knows. Besides those who have left this earth do not come back to tell us what happens.
The term "death" commonly is associated with "darkness", "a void", "lifeless". Then it is no surprise that's what I think of with regards to this piece. I may also add that all art I post I happen to really really like. So, even though I see such a "grimacing" topic from this piece, does not mean I don't like it. It is enchanting and "draws" you into it's world of darkness and void!
